Is it time for Christmas nail art yet? I was going to wait until December, but that’s only a few days away, so let’s start now.
As my first official holiday nail art, I chose red with gold stamped stripes. It’s bright and cheery, and could be very holiday, but also rather classic and appropriate for year round.
I started with 2 coats of Avon Gel Finish in Roses are Red. This polish is high shine, and has an almost jelly feel to it. It’s a thin polish, so you have to be careful around the edges since it pools easily, but is a very classic, and classy, red.
I then used Avon Gel Finish in Glimmer and BornPretty stamping plate BPL-006 to stamp most of the nails with a simple stripe pattern, and one accent nail with a striped bow.
The gold polish stamped relatively well. It is a little faint, but is still visible enough to create a subtle nail art look. The bow didn’t stamp as well as I hoped, but is still recognizable.
The end result turned out better than I ever expected. I love this as a way to ease into holiday looks.
Have you started doing holiday nail art yet? Are you planning to do some?
