I first saw the brand Korean skincare brand Abib at Daiso, if you can believe it, and I didn’t think anything of it. I thought the packaging was interesting and the ingredients looked decent, but then when I started researching the brand, I discovered that it was quite popular and known for its minimalist aesthetic (I think they only use the colours: black, various shades of green, white and grey) and more plant-based ingredient focus.
Firstly, this mask has one of the most confusing names and I think is one of those classic Asian translation situations where things don’t quite make as much sense in English (let me know if I am mistaken!). Heartleaf or Houttuynia cordata is an anti-inflammtory and humectant and is great for sensitive or easily agitated skin. In addition to heartleaf, this mask also contains calming chamomile extract, Centalla asiatica, hyaluronic acid, squalene and even ceramides! Yes, they are at the end of the ingredients list, but still! That’s something special!
In addition to what sounds like a stellar ingredients list, the name of this mask indicates that it has a “gummy” material which actually refers to the fact that this is a microfibre mask. Super soft and flexible and forms a really nice seal across the face for maximum essence absorption! I think the word “sticker” is also meant to refer to how well this mask “sticks” to the face.
Price: $3.50 CDN
Skin concerns: Calming, relaxing, cooling, hydration, sensitivity
Scent: I would say slightly floral, but it was so faint that I couldn’t tell.
Essence Type: Clear and ever so slightly viscous
Duration: I did 30 minutes and I could have easily worn this mask for longer.
Mask Fit: Very good! Only had to fold up the nose piece which is pretty common for me and the material felt very soft.
Hydration: Great! Did not feel the need for moisturizer upon removal.
Other notes: N/A
Adblock test (Why?)
