Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask

Purchased by me

Get ready because THIS is one iconic sheet mask! Korean skincare brand Klairs is quite well-known for their Midnight Blue Calming Cream and Youth Activating Drops. They also have a great vitamin C serum which was actually the first product I tried from them! The Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask is one I have been wanting to try for a very long time after seeing MANY reviews on this mask and now trying it, I understand why people think it’s so cool!

What makes this mask special? The thing that stands out to me the most is that it literally cools the skin within SECONDS of you putting it on! This is because of the inclusion of erythritol, a sugar alcohol, which provides a cooling effect to the skin as it dissolves due to moisture in the skin. It is the first time I have used a mask with this ingredient before and it was VERY cool (literally)! It also contains willow bark extract to gently exfoliate and clear out the pores.

The second thing that makes this sheet mask special is the two-piece bamboo charcoal sheet. I can’t recall the last time I used a fibre mask that was in two pieces! There were also a ton of slits in both parts of the mask so the fit was quite snug. There wasn’t a whole lot of essence in the package so I think the mask was drier than it should have been.

Mask Summary:

Price: Usually around $4 CDN per mask

Skin concerns: Congestion, clogged pores

Scent: Tea tree oil

Essence Type: Clear, viscous

Duration: 20 minutes

Thickness: Medium, but fairly standard for bamboo charcoal sheet masks

Mask Fit: REALLY good because of the extra slits all over the mask

Tackiness: None, but not smooth like silicone either. I felt like I had plump and hydrated skin! Note that it did take about 2-3 hours for the initial tackiness to dry down.

Hydration: Good, but if you would still like to layer moisturizer on top, you can do so comfortably.

Other notes: Redness in my cheeks and nose area were completely gone!

Final verdict:
Seeing as how I have already ordered a pack of five more of these masks, it is evident I enjoyed it! I loved the instant cooling effect as the erythritol took away all of the redness in my cheeks and around my nose. I also loved the suppleness and softness of my skin upon removal of the mask and the fit was nothing short of fantastic. It’s also not too pricey making this kind of an awesome mask that I understand the hype for!

I ordered my Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Masks from Montreal-based www.kshop.ca, but you can find this mask on Amazon and various Kbeauty e-tailers.
