Today is my last day of staycation so I am a little bit sad, but at the same time I also have a few days booked off at the end of the month as well so I don’t have to wait long until I get a few days to relax again! I don’t normally take a lot of vacation and I have traditionally always been one of those people who end up having to use up remaining vacation days randomly in the middle of winter as our company only allows 5 days of carryover, but THIS year I decided that for the summer, I was going to spend as much of it relaxing on my patio as possible. I just wanted to live the good life as this is the NICEST time of the year in Vancouver where people come to see the city so why should I leave now?

The last few weeks of organizing has had me discovering all sorts of fun beauty things and one thing I noticed was that I had a lot of fruit-themed masks which made me feel like summer like these Mango and Coconut Essence Masks from Korean brand Farm Stay. I have MANY more fruity masks so expect to see more of these over the coming weeks!

What makes this mask special? This mask has actual mango extract in it as well as hyaluronic acid and brown algae to condition and soften skin. While the mango extract isn’t at the forefront of the ingredients list, it is a relatively inexpensive sheet mask and this ingredients list is better than what I have seen some Western masks priced at. Also, the packaging immediately had me craving a fresh juicy mango! I mean, look at that!

Part of the reason I decided to use these masks now was because they didn’t feel like they had a lot of essence in them and I was scared about them drying out. I have a feeling the masks could have been less wrinkly if I had gotten to them earlier, but I really don’t know. Generally, good quality masks should have enough essence to keep the sheet moist for far longer than the printed expiration date (the expiration date for these was only Feb 2022).

Farm Stay Real Mango and Coconut Essence Mask

Mask Summary:

Price: $1.50 CDN

What it does: Refreshes and boosts skin radiance

Scent: Very light mango

Essence Type: Clear, watery

Duration: 20 minutes

Thickness: Thin/medium

Mask Fit: Lots of wrinkles in the mask that I could not smooth out, but it did stay on even without any slits!

Tackiness: Light

Hydration: I was feeling a touch dry even with the slightly tacky finish so I pressed one drop of Darphin 8 Flower Nectar Oil on the rest of my face.

Other notes: Not much essence left in package

What makes this mask special? Instead of mango extract, we have coconut extract this time which is known for its humectant properties and making sure skin stays plump and hydrated!

This mask had more essence in it resulting in the mask fit being more fitted and less wrinkly.

What it does: Prevents moisture loss

Scent: Smells faintly of coconut

Essence Type: Clear, watery

Duration: 20 minutes

Thickness: Thin/medium

Mask Fit: This fit seems better than Mango as I think there was more essence soaked into the mask to smooth out wrinkles.

Tackiness: Zero, but it took about an hour for everything to soak in.

Hydration: A little bit dry around the eyes, but other than that pretty good!

Other notes: N/A

Final verdict: For the price, these are decent masks that get the job done. The sheet mask fabric wasn’t as nice as other Korean masks that felt a bit more plush, but again for the price these Farm Stay masks were perfectly enjoyable as part of my skincare routine!
