I should have tried this Derma E collection a long time ago because the relief for my itchy scalp has been incredible! I received this in a press package quite some time ago and you know me, I take my time now with things because it’s not worth the stress, BUT I really wish I had tried it sooner just so I could know that relief AND good hair could exist in the same universe!

The Scalp Relief collection consists of: shampoo, conditioner and scalp relief treatment made with tea tree oil, cooling menthol and salicylic acid in the form of willowbark extract to bring dry, itchy scalps relief, balance and hydration. All three products are also 100% vegan.

The Scalp Relief Shampoo works to gently cleanse and de-flake the scalp with salicylic acid and also calm and cool with tea tree oil and menthol. I have used a few shampoos with menthol in them and I do love that cooling feeling on the scalp. It feels SO GOOD, but the one thing I always ran into was how dry these shampoos always left my hair feeling even with using a hair mask. Not the case with this shampoo! If I didn’t use a hair mask, my hair didn’t feel quite as soft, but definitely did not feel dry. Using a hair mask just made it feel a bit smoother. The menthol really made my scalp feel so cooled so I made a point of massaging the shampoo underneath and along the bottom of my hair as well. As per the instructions, I also leave the shampoo on for about 2 minutes and use it as an in-shower scalp treatment.

In addition to doing what the shampoo does, the Scalp Relief Conditioner also moisturizes the scalp and hair with panthenol and detangles. I also wasn’t expecting the conditioner to be mentholated so it was a nice surprise to have my scalp feel that cooling sensation again! While this conditioner was enough to detangle about 90% of my hair, my hair needs a hair mask to really feel soft and smooth.

The Scalp Relief Treatment is the hero product of the group for me and was SO GOOD that I never got a chance to take a photo before I used up every last drop! Its shimmery blue water-based serum has a whackload of yummy ingredients including sea kelp extract, blue algae powder, tea tree oil, witch hazel, menthol, aloe juice, olive oil I could go on! The serum is administered via dropper and can be used as a pre-shampoo treatment or after washing the hair directly onto the scalp. I liked to use it in between shampoos whenever my scalp got itchy and the relief and hydration was INSTANT. I have yet to find a replacement, but this product did not feel greasy or weigh my roots down and is my FAVOURITE scalp relief treatment so far!

Final verdict: This collection is affordable, actually works and is one that I would purchase on my own for sure! I am still using the shampoo and conditioner even though it’s time for me to move on to another haircare review so it just goes to show how much I am loving it!
