Purchased by me
One thing I have rediscovered this year with Dior is their complexion products. While trying to use up my old Dior foundations from years ago, I realized that some of the nicest face products I have in my collection are indeed from Dior which led me to purchase the new(ish) Forever Glow Star Filter.
Coming in 10 shades, this is a “multi-use liquid highlighting concentrate” that is meant to visibly brighten, enhance, smooth and blur the skin for a radiant complexion. This can be used as a highlighter, mixed with foundation to boost radiance or on bare skin to bring out natural glow.
The texture is truly lightweight and blends seamlessly into the skin and even on top of foundation without any pesky pilling. I found that when mixing it with foundation, the effect was too subtle to notice so I started applying it on top of my skin as an all-over glow. My hand below looks bare, but in actuality I have blended in the Star Filter and all you can see is this hint of radiance.
The first photo is just with Dior Forever Skin Multi-Use Foundation Stick in the shade 1.5N and the second is with the Star Filter applied directly on top. It’s subtle, but you can see the glow on my cheeks and forehead. Obviously, not everyone wants to glow everywhere like me so applying to just the cheeks and nose area would probably be enough.
Final verdict: Normally, I don’t gravitate towards liquid highlighter-type products like this one, but I really like how fluid the texture is and how well it seems to cooperate with anything I use with it whether it is a Dior product or not. I also like how controllable the radiance is and that even if I decide to use it at “full power” and just apply it directly to my face, that I don’t end up looking like that time we were doing the “Face Full of Highlighter” trend! Now, that I have gotten older, my skin is what I have really decided to focus on when it comes to makeup and this Star Filter for me has been a winner!
You can find the Dior Forever Glow Star Filter at www.dior.com and all Dior Beauty counters. You can get it through Sephora as well, but keep in mind that they charge $4 more!
