How is everyone doing? Are the holidays getting to you? Or is this your favourite time of year? I definitely love the making extra money side of it and how generally people are pleasant, but then I dread the unpleasantness that comes with January…people are like extra grumpy OR they get into follow up mode. For now, I will enjoy the Christmas magic and let you know of this Sephora Collection sheet mask that was interesting…
What makes this mask special? It is a two part mask which I found a bit strange for a mask that was not hydrogel or “rubbery” in texture, but then again there is a Klairs mask I love that is two parts to ensure a good fit. This mask focuses on instant brightening with Vitamin C as well as improved skin texture. The Vitamin C (ascorbyl glucoside) is right at the top of the ingredients list so points for that!
Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Inositol, Glycosyl Trehalose, Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Potassium Hydroxide, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Parfum (Fragrance), Xanthan Gum, Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Extract, Lecithin, Sorbitan Caprylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Dilauramidoglutamide Lysine, O-Cymen-5-Ol, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract.
Mask Summary:
Price: $8.50 CDN
What it does: Brighten
Scent: Like orange Tic Tacs
Essence Type: Clear, ever so slightly viscous
Duration: 15 minutes
Thickness: Thin
Mask Fit: Not the best. A lot of extra mask on the sides and the two parts did not overlap or line up perfectly so there was a gap in between.,
Tackiness: None
Hydration: Light. You could get away with no moisturizer in a more humid climate or the summer, but in this winter weather not a chance!
Other notes: I wore this mask for 20 minutes and I could feel certain parts drying out.
Final verdict: The positive reviews for the mask on Sephora were mostly incentivized and I feel like the people who gave this mask a good review probably haven’t tried as many sheet masks as I have over the years so what I will say is that there was a nice glow after removal and I liked that it wasn’t tacky. It’s also a quick mask so a really good one to do in the mornings or before applying makeup. I don’t see why this had to be a two piece mask though. The fabric was thin enough to make it one and it’s really annoying to have to unfold TWO thin pieces of mask. At least with the Klairs mask, it was thicker so it was easy to unfold. I will not be buying this mask again and when it comes to the Sephora sheet masks, I would rather stick with their regular full-faced ones!
