I was so good about keeping up with my Sheet Mask Sunday posts and then I don’t know what happened! I think I was super bummed out by what was happening down south and the issues it was causing all of us that it just didn’t feel appropriate to talk about beauty stuff. Now, that things have settled down into a baseline state of uncertainty, my brain has adjusted to this “new norm” and I want to talk about skincare and makeup again. The sunshine is also helping now that Vancouver is well into Spring (sorry people out East with your snow) so potentially you might see more regular posting from me now because I miss it here!

I haven’t been trying any new, review-worthy masks lately, but the last one I did try was this one from VT Cosmetics which caught my eye because it involved a second plastic layer and is also part of VT Cosmetic’s Reedle Shot series which we are all obsessed with!

What makes this mask special? You have both reedles and glutathione in the essence plus a plastic sheet analogous to those thin plastic bags you find at the grocery store for fruit and veggies that acts like a foil mask to lock in moisture and “ingredient transfer”. Gimmicky, but if it works great if not, I had fun, right?

If any of you have tried foil masks, you will know how HOT it gets when wearing them since there is no air flow. Expect that same feeling with this mask, but the relief you feel when you peel off that plastic is AMAZING! It’s like “Ahhh cold air!”

What it does: Moisturizes, smoothes and adds radiance to skin

Scent: Light to none

Essence Type: Clear and lightly viscous

Duration: 30 minutes.

Thickness: Thin with the mask on its own, but the plastic cover was thinner than a foil mask

Mask Fit: REALLY nice!

Tackiness: Medium

Hydration: High. I did not want to add more hydration!

Other notes: N/A

Final verdict: This mask was SUPER hydrating and did take awhile for the essence to absorb. I definitely would not use this mask in the summer or during times of medium to high humidity, but when the temperatures dip in the winter, I will definitely use this again! I’m not sure how effective the steam wrap is, but it does add some warmth to the mask when you have it on. Like a little sauna which some of you might like!
