Wow! I have an honest to goodness full routine of skincare to review for all of you! I don’t often use all the same brand anymore and when I do get an opportunity to do a full routine, I do it very gradually so even though I received all of these products back in January, I have been slow about phasing them in, but now I am intimately close with them and can share my thoughts!
Matcha Lemon Tea Hand and Nail Cream*
This hand cream was the first thing I tried and it was lovely! The scent was refreshing and the texture absorbent and completely non-greasy. I love the scent of lemon and for a hand cream with shea butter in it, I was surprised at how quickly the formula sank into my skin. Teaology has two other scents in Passion and White Tea so if I run out of this one, I would be open to giving the others a try though I really do love my citrus scents so I might just purchase this scent again! One bottle is only $16 for 75mL so maybe during Christmas if they do a gift set of all three scents, that would be perfect! The Teaology website offers these in 30mL travel sizes for just $4.95 as well!
Matcha Infusion Ultra Firming Serum*
I have reviewed three other Teaology serums (here) with their Glow Vit C one being my favourite! I have been thoroughly enjoying this Matcha serum as it contains
Acmella Oleracea, which is a plant-derived ingredient known to relax facial muscle tension (how cool!) as well as matcha tea infusion and hyaluronic acid. This serum has a watery consistency making it very lightweight and easy to layer with other skincare or sheet masks in my case! This serum is supposed to lift, smooth and improve skin tone and I gotta say, the compliments I have received on my skin the last couple of weeks -THIS was the only thing I have really changed so it looks like it is working! Once I am done, I will definitely be purchasing a bottle!
The only sad thing about Teaology’s serums? They are only 15mL so with me using it every night, this bottle is almost gone at approximately the 8 week mark.
Matcha Tea Ultra Firming Eye Cream*
I am not the best at using eye cream and I am hesitant to try new ones because I am terrified of milia! This particular eye cream is meant to be a brightening one that contains caffeine, vitamin C and Teaology’s matcha tea infusion. What sold me on this eye cream was the inclusion of vitamin C. It is in a lower dose so my undereyes do not get irritated. This eye cream is also gentle enough to use on the eyelid! And as an added bonus, the COLOUR of the product is green to colour correct redness and has a very lightweight and absorbent texture making it a good option for underneath makeup as there is no pilling of product! Did this reduce my dark circles and firm my skin? I’m not quite sure because there have only been one or two eye products I have used in my life that have made a noticeable difference so the only thing I can say about this eye cream is that I did NOT have any milia and that that my undereyes felt hydrated, but not overly so (just the way I like it!).
Matcha Tea Ultra Firming Face Cream*
Firstly, this moisturizer is green. I know that doesn’t necessarily signify quality, but it sure does make it more fun to use! The green actually is meant to cancel out any redness on the skin so it does indeed serve a purpose! It contains the Matcha Tea infusion like the other products in this collection as well as shea butter and 9 other botanical actives (found in the last half of the ingredients list). In addition to concealing, this moisturizer is meant to redensify and lift the skin.
This is a fairly thick and solid moisturizer in terms of texture meaning if you turn the pot upside down, this product is not going anywhere! I found that on days where I felt dry, this moisturizer wasn’t quite enough, but now that we are in the throes of summer, this level of hydration has been perfect!
Final verdict: I have always liked Teaology so getting a chance to try out their Matcha Tea collection was quite fun and through my testing process I have discovered yet another serum that I want to have in my skincare routine! I also loved how unique the moisturizer was in terms of colour. For the pricing, the ingredients and the experience, Teaology is a fantastic brand and I will continue to use their products! I just purchased some of their sheet masks as well as two of their cleansers that I hope to share with you all!
