SHEET MASK | Fan Beauty Secret Black Spruce Hydra-Filler Black Mask

Purchased by me

This week has been an interesting one as I have been very focused on the topic of mental health and though I hear about it all the time and understand how important it is, I never realized how much WORK it was to stay on top of it. It’s like exercise or making something a habit and it’s not easy. I won’t get into the whys of why I have suddenly decided to start taking care of my brain more (at least not until it’s less fresh), but I am going to be dealing with unpleasantness for probably the next year and I don’t know how I’ll do, but I guess I will take it day by day.

A few months ago, while we were doing some Asian shopping at T&T, I came across this lovely packaging for Fan Beauty Secret. I mean, it’s a Persian cat dressed in a traditional outfit so I did NOT know what to expect when it came to the actual sheet mask. A very large part of me was hoping that this mask was printed and had a cat SOMEWHERE on it!

What makes this mask special? Well, I did my best to translate, but there was not a lot of information online about this mask. Firstly, the mask is black, but does not smell like charcoal so I think it’s just black for the sake of being black like the sheet masks from Love, Jude. As for ingredients, niacinamide is at the top of the list along with the featured Norway Black Spruce extract (antioxidant and skin conditioning) and two different forms of hyaluronic acid.

This mask had a beautiful fit on the face and really held A LOT of essence! The fragrance was a bit intense for me and that’s not something I say very often as I do enjoy fragrance.

Mask Summary:

Price: $36.99 CDN/5 masks

What it does: Lots and lots of moisture

Scent: A little bit powdery and is probably one of the more fragranced sheet masks I have tried

Essence Type: Clear, lightly viscous and there was a lot of it!

Duration: 40 minutes

Thickness: Thin and feels a little spongy feeling, but also very soft material.

Mask Fit: Very good! I liked the deep slits on the chin to make for a better fit.

Tackiness: Very light and barely noticeable

Hydration: Just the right amount of moisture!

Other notes: I wish this mask were in the shape or pattern of a cat LOL

Final verdict: These masks were a bit on the expensive side and honestly, if there wasn’t a Persian cat on the packaging, I probably wouldn’t have purchased them. However, the experience itself was very luxe from the amount of essence to the softness of the mask material as well as how long it was able to stay on my face without going dry! My skin also felt “purrfectly” moisturized and content.

You can find the Fan Beauty Black Spruce Hydra-Filler Black Mask at T&T locations.
