It has been a few years since I have featured Vancouver-based skincare brand Okoko Cosmetiques on Cosmetic Proof, but that is mainly because since my last review (here), I’ve pretty much been using the same products repeatedly because I like them and haven’t seen the need to change things up too much, but one product that I haven’t talked about that I have found fun and interesting to use is the Delice Overnight Mask!

Like many of Okoko’s products, Delice has a fun colour of red with a “gelato-like” consistency and is suitable for normal, aging, congested and dull skin. This mask contains encapsulated retinol and niacinamide in order to maintain potency as well as Dragon’s Blood extract which firms skin and acts as a powerful antioxidant.

Honestly, this mask does so many things that I can barely keep it all straight in my head because in addition to the basic sleeping mask requirement of hydration, with continued use this mask promises to even skin tone, smooth fines lines, reduce congestion, reduce hyperpigmentation and improve the skin barrier. Normally, I would say these claims were a bit grandiose, but if you have a look at the ingredients list down below, it’s a NICE one and knowing the Oyeta and how hard she works on formulations, I am more inclined to believe that it’s all true!

In terms of my personal experience with this overnight mask, the first thing I will say is that because of how gelatinous the texture is, use a spoon! While the swatch below looks messy and red, the mask does become somewhat more subdued when massaged into the skin, but I would say that my skin still has a bit of tint that looks kind of like a tan. It also has a really nice vanilla scent and is fairly easy to rinse off in the morning.

Final verdict: This mask definitely left my skin hydrated and brightened in the mornings as well as plump! I’m not the best at using overnight masks so I haven’t been too religious about using this mask every week, but everytime I do, I enjoy it. The scent is lovely and the texture is more lightweight than a conventional cream sleeping mask which is nice for the summer or if I have used a particularly hydrating sheet mask. I also like supporting a local company that makes such luxurious products with thoughtful ingredients lists and R&D in small batches. Overall, I always enjoy the results and the sensorial aspect of all Okoko products and this mask was no exception!
